A reunion of cousins descended from James and Sophia Booth of Fairview, Kansas
took place at Ponds Lodge in Island Park, Idaho from July 24 to 27, 2000. It
was the seventh reunion of the Booth cousins,
This year there were representatives from at least four generations of Booths,
from all over the United States. Here are some excerpts of reviews of the event
culled from the family letter:
and the third time at the Ponds Lodge site. The first reunion was held there
in 1980, and was initiated by some of the cousins who are Idaho residents.
The group returned to Ponds Lodge in 1990.
Aunt Mary's Family:
Dianne (Kidd) May : I enjoyed the short day I got to attend the reunion. I brought my daughter Melissa and her children, Michael, David and Lisa.
Uncle Harvey's Family
Jim Booth
: Our appreciation to Sandra for the work in organizing the occasion. As usual it was notable for the small times of good conversation around a cup of coffee or just sitting on a porch.
The usual side trips to Yellowstone were augmented by the abundant trout (tho
less then in days of yore but still amazing to the newest cousins) at Big
Springs, a float trip down the Henry's Fork of the Snake river, horseback
trail rides at Harriman State park, a trip to the Nature Conservancy's
ranch and wildlife viewing station, and a trip to Ashton to see Tussie's
and Mary's various homes and where they were buried. In the evenings
the guitar work of Ardena and John Yakle's sons Greg and Jerry led us in
hours of singing songs old and new. Kathy and I brought our granddaughters,
Josha (13) and Takara (9).
Aunt Gene's Family:
Sandra (Rugh) Davidson
: The Idaho location is always a good way to catch up with lots of Aunt Mary's branch of the family.

I really did enjoy the chance to tour Mary and Tussie's home sites, including the farm and the house at the power plant. My thanks again to Ed Davidson for making the tour a reality. In addition to Bill and I and our dog, Rosie, two of my three "kids", Sally and Barbara, plus Barb's husband, Ron, daughters Sarah and 3 mo. old Isabella, and Ron's son, Tyler, were at the reunion. I think they all really enjoyed themselves.
