"Given this bunch, it's a wonder things went so smoothly"-- Hank Booth "In spite of the 'foot notes' we had a wonderful time at the reunion" --Dana Rugh George "It was a very grave occasion" -- Ardena Booth Yakle |
![]() Hannibal is a wonderful town. We started with the tour train ride. This was one of our favorites because our kids (Jordan 6, Savanna 5 and Mitchal 3) all love trains. |
It took us to a public access where we got a great view of the Mississippi river.
|
Mitchal learned how to say the difficult word and now thinks that every body of water is the Mississippi.
Anyways, it also took us through town to see the older houses and all the way out of town to drive by the Tom Sawyer cave.
|
![]() It was a good way to start so we could see the town and figure out what we wanted to do. |
We went on the Steamboat ride down the Mississippi which was fun. It was very hot and parts of the boat
were air conditioned but the kids wouldn't have that.
|
![]() They wanted to be front and center. Mitchal ran around as I chased from one deck to the next, up the stairs, down the stairs, in the doors, out the doors...bless his little heart...he didn't want mom to gain any weight that day and I for sure didn't!!! |

Friday night was fun when we all gathered in the meeting room of the hotel and shared pictures and sang songs. My group was tired and since it didn't start until late, we didn't last too long.
|
![]() We left around 10 to put the kids to bed and I was going to go back and spend more time at the gathering but I was so exhausted that I fell asleep too.

Seeing all of the cousins again was the best. It was great to see Barbara and her husband/children..Sally, Hank and Sue, Dorothy, Jerome and his family and everyone. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.
As far as the next reunion....I don't care where it is...I just want to be included and be able to go!

Saturday Morning we did a trip to the graveyard in Barry, Indiana. It was a VERY hot day. Dad told us stories of our heritage and we got to see the grave and great grandpa Booth.

We saw the land where he had grown up where the house would be on top of the hill. There was a trailer at the bottom next to the pond with a bunch of goats, geese and ducks. The people must not have been home because we went into the fenced in area and no one came out to complain. Then we went to another graveyard and found Andrew Booth. I don't think anyone ever found Abner or Mattie.

Saturday evening we all went to Sawyers Creek for supper. . . .

It was really nice to be with everyone and socialize. On the way back from supper we stopped at Lovers
Leap to look at the view. Simply....beautiful. We ran into Jerome and his crew there. It was breathtaking and I would have liked to pitch a tent there and stay for a week or two. You could see for miles overlooking the Mississippi.
